Hon. Mohammed Ogoshi Onawo, who represents Doma, Keana and Awe federal constituency of Nasarawa State in the House of Representatives, is the Chairman, House Committee on Industries. In this interview with GABRIEL EWEPU, he discusses socio-economic issues affecting trade in Nigeria and other issues of national concern.
When were you elected into the Federal House of Representatives?
I was elected into the Federal House of Representatives in 2011. Prior to that I was elected into the Nasarawa State House of Assembly in 2003, and was also elected Speaker of the House that same year. After my first term in the House, I was re-elected in 2007, and my tenure got expired. The then governor that was elected happened to be from the same constituency with me, and in the spirit of zoning I was not elected Speaker of the House again; I became a floor member from 2007-2011.
